I love System of a Down. i love every song they've ever released, every album they've released. there is no band anywhere that sounds anything like these guys, they stretch metal to its limits.

The messages put forward throughout 'Toxicity' are amazing, some harder to uncover than others. Some people say that System sing songs about nothing, eg.
Vicinity of Obscenity - Mezmerize
Bounce - Toxicity

But that is not the case. This review will give you an insight into the true meaning of 'Toxicity's' songs, and my ratings for them.

1. Prison Song: 10/10: This song is about the American goverment locking away minor offendors away for overly long times - building a prison system for everyone to live in, implying that the government wants to lock us all up.

2. Needles: 10/10: Tsong is about being a junkie. The drugs take over the victim and force them to do things against their will.

3. Deer Dance: 10/10: This song is about a riot that occurred on the 15th of August, 2000 at the Staple Centre in America. After A free Concert By Rage Against The Machine a riot erupted...and police used rubber bullets to stop the brawls.

4. Jet Pilot: 10/10: Apparrently this song is about a horse named otto who has lived his entire live in a stable, dreaming about flying. One day, a Jet Pilot flies past, and the horse (otto) stares into his eyes and sees everything the pilot sees.
Weird Huh?

5. X: 8/10: This song is about overpopulation, and how we don't need to multiply so much. This song relates to the situation in China where overpopulation has become an epidemic, and bans have been put in place on the amount of children a family is allowed.

6. Chop Suey: 10/10: I read somewhere that this song is about a young girl is who is abused by her father, and puts on a front to hide her pain. In the end it all becomes to much to bear, and she ends up commiting suicide - but not before asking god for forgiveness.

7. Bounce: 8/10: This song, strangely enough, is actually about group sx. I won't go into it much because it isn't really appropriate.

8. Forest: 10/10: This song I believe is about God and Adam & Eve, and how they betray his trust. (by eating the apple)

9. ATWA: 10/10: Apparently this song is about Charles Manson, and the title stands for Air, Trees, Water, Animals

10. Science: 10/10: I think this song is about how mankind have tried to use science to make the world a better place, but have "failed mother earth" and just caused destruction, pollution etc.

11. Shimmy: 10/10: I think this song is about children trying to dream about growing up and breaking out, but there's always someone them in and out of school. Listen to the lyrics and you might agree.

12. Toxicity: 10/10: Toxicity is related to Los Angeles, about how toxic the city is. It is also about how how lazy we have become, and how we have become obsessed with electronics and so forth.

13. Psycho: 9/10: I think this song is about cocaine-high groupies wanting to sleep with SOAD so they can get into one of their shows to see them perform.

14. Aerials: 10/10: According to Shavo Odadjian (SOAD bass player) this song is about a disabled child who wishes he could be a tightrope walker.

That is just my opinion on the song meanings on 'Toxicity'.
I wanted people to understand the subliminal messages in these songs.

NOTE: IF ANYONE WANTS TO CONTACT ME ABOUT THIS REVIEW, OR ANYTHING ELSE INVLOVING SOAD, PLEASE EMAIL ME: teachers_ruin_lives@hotmail.com

Please buy this album, it is definitely worth every cent.

Song "Toxicity"
Conversion software version 7.0,
Looking at life through the eyes of a tire hub,
Eating seeds as a past time activity,
The toxicity of our city, of our city,

New what do you own the world,
How do you own disorder, disorder,
Now somewhere between the sacred silence,
Sacred silence and sleep,
Somewhere between the sacred silence and sleep,
Disorder, disorder, disorder,

More wood for their fires loud neighbours,
Flashlight reveries caught in the headlights of a truck,
Eating seeds as a past time activity,
The toxicity of our city, of our city,

New what do you own the world,
How do you own disorder, disorder,
Now somewhere between the sacred silence,
Sacred silence and sleep,
Somewhere between the sacred silence and sleep,
Disorder, disorder, disorder.

New what do you own the world,
How do you own disorder,
Now somewhere between the sacred silence,
Sacred silence and sleep,
Somewhere between the sacred silence and sleep,
Disorder, disorder, disorder,

When I became the sun,
I shone life into the man's hearts,
When I became the sun,
I shone life into the man's hearts.

Sevendust Lands New Label, Stops at Warehouse on Tour (RedNova)
To celebrate a new beginning on a new label, Sevendust has gone back to the top of an alphabet. "Alpha," the sixth studio album from the Atlanta band, hits stores on March 6, and the group's Tuesday stop at the Warehouse, 2548 S. First St., is one of 57 headlining tour dates to support it.
Screamers: System of a Down Review (UGO - UnderGroundOnline)
There are very few films that you can point to and say, "That might actually have an impact on the world." As much as you love The Hills Have Eyes , irradiated cannibal hillbillies aren't really big on inspiring cultural or political change.
Dude, that's so intense (Calendarlive.com)
A ferocious little dynamo rips off his shirt and streaks howling across the stage atop a bludgeoning beat. Maybe he cuts his torso too, and glowers there bleeding. Another Iggy/Manson rerun? Repetition can mute shock; today, such rock 'n' roll theatrics come off like the latest mounting of a Sophocles tragedy.

The Thermals react to life during wartime.
Texas band thrilled about record contract (Northwest Herald)
Unlike Chicago, the quiet farm town of Sulphur Springs, Texas, doesn?t have much of a music scene. But the members of Texas band Fair To Midland have found themselves thrust into the spotlight after System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian signed them to his label, Serjical Strike.
Texas' finest 'Fair' travels to Boston (The Heights)
Dallas, Texas may not be the epicenter of the musical universe, but it does appear to be the origin of the future of rock 'n' roll. This, my friends, is no hyperbole: It's reality. Straight out of the land of cowboys, big hair, 10-gallon hats, and chicken-fried steak is Fair to Midland, a band composed of brains, melody, and pure energy.
Metallica to Begin Recording With Rick Rubin in March (Blogcritics.org)
In 2003, Metallica released their 8th full-length studio album, St. Anger . With its tiny production, absence of their signature guitar solos and serious shortage of good songwriting and songs, it was a major disappointment. The only positives I could take from St. Anger were that it was meaner and more aggressive than their previous two albums, Load and Reload , and I loved the opening ...
