An exuberant break from the standard Cornell sound / 5
I have been a strong Chris Cornell listener since early childhood. My first Soundgarden album was Ultramega OK, and since then I have stuck with Chris through most of Soundgarden's career. When they broke up, I was just as broke up yet at the same time I was anxious to know what Chris Cornell's intentions were to be. Then this album was released. I was surprised, shocked, and almost instantly pleased with the turnout of Euphoria Morning. I have never heard anything like it before. Almost like a mix between Red Hot Chili Peppers, Led Zeppelin and Nirvana with a hint of blues and acoustic trip-soothing sound. My all-time favorite here is "Can't Change Me", followed closely by "Wave Goodbye", a touching and deeply personal ditty probably following Chris' own life.
All in all, this album is definately worth a listen. If you still respect Soundgarden though, perhaps you should either stick with the old-school Cornell or give Audioslave a shot, who is just Rage Against The Machine pumped with Chris Cornell's voice & vocals.
