I have been told that this was the last session that Joe did before his untimely death in 1994 that we guitar enthusiasts are still reeling from.
Even though he was gravely ill during this recording you'd never detect any cause for concern ability wise. His level of excellence is maintained throughout. Pass doesn't opt for easy C & W chord changes either although the songs are harmonically simple for someone of his standard.
Roy Clark adds another dimension by way of his metallic tone and oblique country bends. They both sound like they are having fun which is what it is all about.
Every track is wonderful so it's difficult to choose a standout.
